Old Town and the Central Corridors
In and around Old Town, laterals are frequently clay or cast iron with decades of established landscaping above them. That is the classic recipe for root intrusion and joint failure, and it is what we find most often in this part of the city.
North Scottsdale
Farther north the lines are generally newer PVC. Material failure is rare. What we see instead is settlement – bellies that hold standing water – along with construction debris that was never flushed out before the home was occupied.
Long Runs Change the Economics

My drains keep clogging, what could the issue be?
It depends where in Scottsdale you are. Near Old Town, repeated clogs usually mean root intrusion or joint failure in clay or cast iron. In north Scottsdale it is more often a belly or debris in newer PVC. The symptom looks identical; the fix does not. A camera inspection tells us which.
What are signs my sewer needs attention?

Yes, particularly in the older central parts of the city where clay laterals and mature landscaping coincide. Hydrojetting removes the mass properly. On the long laterals common to larger Scottsdale lots, we locate the intrusion point precisely first so any repair is targeted rather than exploratory.
