Plumbing & HVAC Services in Phoenix, AZ
Hansen Family Air Conditioning and Plumbing is a family-owned plumbing and HVAC company serving homes across Phoenix — from the historic districts near downtown to Arcadia, Ahwatukee, and Deer Valley. Licensed technicians, straight answers, and we’re open 7 days a week.
We’re here 24/7
Phoenix is not one housing market, and plumbing and HVAC problems here don’t come from one place either. A 1940s bungalow in Willo or Coronado is still running galvanized supply lines and a cast iron sewer lateral that has been in the ground for eighty years. A 2015 home in Desert Ridge has PEX and a high-efficiency system, but it was sized for a builder’s spec sheet rather than for a west-facing great room in July. What both have in common is our water — hard enough to scale a water heater years early — and a cooling season that runs a system harder than almost anywhere else in the country.
We’re a family business based in Mesa, and we work all across the Valley. When we come out, we tell you what we actually found, what it will cost, and whether it can wait. Financing options are available, and it’s worth asking about our current specials when you book. Call (602) 805-4836 or contact our team to get on the schedule.
Plumbing and HVAC Services We Offer in Phoenix
HVAC Repair
Phoenix air conditioners rarely fail in April — they fail during the first stretch of 110° days, when the system finally can’t keep up. Our technicians diagnose AC and heating problems on the spot, carry common parts on the truck, and tell you honestly whether you’re looking at a repair or a system nearing the end of its life. We try for same-day service, though we can’t guarantee it during a heat wave.
HVAC Maintenance
A Phoenix cooling season is roughly seven months long, which means a tune-up here isn’t optional maintenance — it’s what keeps a system from quitting in August. We check refrigerant charge, clean coils that collect Valley dust and monsoon grit, verify capacitor health, and flush the condensate drain. The best time to book HVAC maintenance in Phoenix is March or April, before the first triple-digit week.
HVAC Installation
Sizing matters more in Phoenix than almost anywhere. An undersized system runs constantly and still loses ground in July; an oversized one short-cycles and never pulls humidity out during monsoon season. We measure your home, look at your ductwork — often the real bottleneck in older central Phoenix houses — and quote a system installation built for your house, not a catalog. Financing options are available.
General Plumbing
Pre-1960 homes in central Phoenix are often still on galvanized steel supply lines that have been narrowing from the inside for decades — the classic symptom is decent pressure at one fixture and almost none upstairs or at the far end of the house. Newer builds bring their own issues, usually fixture and valve failures accelerated by hard water. We handle general plumbing repairs across all of it.
Water Heaters
Phoenix water runs hard, and hard water is what decides when your water heater dies. Scale settles on the bottom of the tank, insulates the burner from the water, and quietly costs you both efficiency and years. Most Valley tanks give you eight to twelve. We install, flush, and replace tank and tankless water heaters, and we’ll tell you which one actually fits your household.
Drains and Sewers
The older Phoenix neighborhoods — Encanto, Coronado, Garfield, parts of south Phoenix — sit on clay and cast iron sewer laterals with decades of mature landscaping rooted around them. Roots find every joint. We run a camera first so you can see the actual condition of the line before anyone talks about digging, then handle drain cleaning and sewer repair from there.
Water Line Repair & Replacement
Phoenix soil moves, and a pressurized copper line under a slab can leak for months without a drop showing indoors. The tells are a water bill that climbed for no reason, a warm patch of floor, or pressure that dropped house-wide. We locate the leak with acoustic and thermal equipment before anything gets opened up, then repair, reroute, or replace the water line.
Commercial Plumbing Services
We work with small commercial properties around Phoenix — restaurants, offices, salons, retail suites, and small multifamily buildings. That means grease line maintenance, tankless and commercial water heaters, restroom fixtures, backflow needs, and rooftop package units. Commercial plumbing is scheduled around your hours, because a closed restaurant doesn’t make money.

About Hansen Family Air Conditioning and Plumbing
Trustworthy Plumbing and HVAC Services in Phoenix
We’re a family-owned plumbing and HVAC company, based in Mesa and working across Greater Phoenix since 2013. That matters in a market this size, because Phoenix has no shortage of large operations that dispatch whoever is closest and hand you a tablet with three price tiers on it. We’d rather show you what we found, explain what it means, and let you decide. If a repair will hold, we’ll say so. If your system is on borrowed time, we’ll say that too. We’re your neighbors — here to help, not to upsell.
Phoenix Plumbing & HVAC Questions, Answered
Straight answers to what Phoenix homeowners ask us most. Still not sure? Call (602) 805-4836 or contact our team — we’re open 7 days a week.
Do you serve all of Phoenix, or just the East Valley?
We serve all of Phoenix, from Ahwatukee and South Mountain up through Central Phoenix, Arcadia, Deer Valley, and Desert Ridge. Our shop is in Mesa, but Phoenix is a core part of our service area and we’re there every day.
How fast can you get to me in Phoenix?
We’re open 7 days a week and we try for same-day service, though we can’t guarantee it — during a July heat wave every AC company in the Valley is running full. Call (602) 805-4836 early in the day for the best chance at a same-day slot.
Why do water heaters fail so quickly in Phoenix?
Hard water. Phoenix water carries a heavy mineral load, and that mineral settles as scale on the bottom of a tank water heater, insulating the burner from the water it’s supposed to heat. The unit works harder, costs more to run, and typically lasts eight to twelve years instead of the twelve to fifteen you’d see elsewhere. Annual flushing helps.
My older Phoenix home has low water pressure. What causes that?
In homes built before about 1960, it’s usually galvanized steel supply piping. The interior of the pipe corrodes and narrows over decades until the effective diameter is a fraction of what it started as. The tell is that pressure is worst at the fixtures farthest from the main. A repipe is the permanent fix, and we’ll scope it before quoting.
What size air conditioner does a Phoenix home need?
There is no square-footage rule that works here. Sizing depends on your insulation, window orientation, ceiling height, ductwork condition, and shade. An undersized unit will never catch up in July; an oversized one short-cycles and leaves the house clammy during monsoon season. We measure before we quote.
Do you offer financing?
Financing options are available. We’ll go over them with you when we quote the work, and it’s worth asking about our current specials when you book.
